Accelerated Reader Program
The Accelerated Reader Program is a reading management software program that is designed to
build a lifelong love of reading and learning. The program helps students focus on careful reading,
which improves thinking skills and builds an intrinsic love of reading. The students are challenged
through various quiz formats that promote mastery of curriculum standards. They earn rewards for
their achievements.
Extra Curricular Activities
In order to enhance the extra curricular experiences of our students, participation in clubs is provided
every Wednesday afternoon. The students select from various choices based upon their individual interests.
Each student has an opportunity to take part in two clubs throughout the school year. Some of the selections
include cooking, computers, guitar lessons, music and dance, art, chess, and textile design. The students
readily enjoy challenging themselves and expanding their interests and experiences. These clubs allow our
students to promote recreational interests, improve many curriculum-based thinking and reasoning skills,
as well as tap into their artistic or musical talent.
